Helllloooo there! Long time, me no post. You good? Nice to hear. So this past month has been yet another hectic one. We celebrated Christmas up in our new cabin. A new year randomly appeared without notice or invitation. For some reason, I turned nineteen (!). I enrolled at PVCC (Paradise Valley Community College) and am taking a class there. Im still doing CollegePlus!. And amongst all this busy-ness, I shot my best friend. Not with a gun you fool! A Canon! ;)
During winter break Daniel wanted me to take his senior portraits. Whoopee! It all started one late winter afternoon. The unsuspecting Daniel and I drove out to South Mountain for a fun-filled afternoon of hiking and making fun of chubby, whiny children who didn’t want to hike. Daniel got out of the car and I shot him. The end.
All joking aside, this shoot was super awesome! Daniel is one of my most favoritest persons EVER and I love him dearly. He’s got a strange sense of humor and gives “excellent” relationship advice. ;)
Have a good day!
I really like this photo. The pattern is super cool.
Quiz Time! Was this taken with my Rebel T1i or SD780 or Lumix? First person to get it right gets the satisfaction of being smart!

I don’t know what kind of cactus this is, but it is a cactus because it has thorns and is green.

Just stating the obvious here.

Speaking of dirt, last week Arizona experienced a Haboob. I know what your thinking, and you should be ashamed of yourself for thinking that! A haboob is a giganto dust storm!
This is a haboob! WHOOSHHH!
*NOMCRUNCHNOM* Haboob eats the moon.
My brother and I (being daredevils n’such) decided to stay outside and let haboob engulf us in its dustiness!
Once upon a time there was a neighborhood here. Then it got eaten by haboob. The end.
We went from being able to see the house at the end of the street, to not, in quite literally a matter of seconds. It was hardcore-intenseness!
What was really weird is the wind stopped. So what we were left with was a dust cloud just hangin’ around. It was really strange and creepy. It felt like we had been invaded by ALIENS. I went out and drove around in haboob. It was cool and very eery.
By the time my brother and I had made it inside, my camera had amassed a thin layer of dirt. Which is not a good thing! It’s not weather sealed! Opps. Oh well, the sensor needed cleaning anyways.
(BTW, most these photos were taken at ISO 3200-6400 hence the graininess)
So yup! That was the Phoenix Haboob!
Be sure to check out Arizona Highways WordPress Blog! Two of my photos got featured in the slideshow! :D

Well most of you probably know that I live in the desert! So this week is going to be all desert-y. Which is basically cactus, rocks, and dirt.
Speaking of cactus, that’s today’s photo! A cactus! :D
Well it’s actually a cactus and a pretty sunset. Which is basically what the desert is known for, and hot weather…but that isn’t easily captured in a photo.
Fun Fact – this photo was taken with my SD780! Yeah, that’s right. A point n shoot! GASP!

First of all I would like to say I am sorry I didn’t blog very much last week. I completely forgot to compile all my blog posts for the week so that is why you didn’t see any.
I’ll upload a couple of photos from last week but realistically I haven’t been doing that much photographically. With the weather being so blasted hot and with the summer monsoons rolling in, Arizona is not a great place to be photographing in the summer. Well actually it is because the light is amazing, but the heat is a killer. So basically, I have just been inside the time. With the exception of seeing friends.
A long with the heat, grandmother hasn’t been doing very well and has been in the hospital a lot this last month. The doctors say she doesnt have much longer to live so our plans to Oregon have been canceled. Which means we wont be escaping the heat for a while. :P Um other than that, not much else has gone on. So yupperoni. Now for a photo!
Anyway, one of them big, ol’ monsoons are blowin’ in and I hoping I can get all my blog posts up if/before the power goes out. It happens sometimes.

I really love old, abandoned buildings. There is something so mysterious about them. I always wonder what they were like back when they had people in them. What happened in them. Has it always looked like that. And many other questions. Of course I try to imagine what it was like. Picturing as if people were actually there.
I wish I could get inside this building. It’s really cool. I would love to spend a whole day just wandering around inside it. Photographing it, playing our little scenes in empty corners of what people might have done. Most people see an empty, useless, building. But I see something else. I see an empty building that was once full of life.
This photo is one of my favorites. Out of all that I’ve ever taken, I really like this one. I can’t make up my mind which one I like better. The unedited or the edited. Both are so cool and capture the building’s personality in a unique way.
Yeah, this is unedited. I love the 50mm f1.8. The level of detail it captures is crazy! And the color and contrast and scary good. Best 100 bucks I've ever spent.
I also love this one. It looks as though it was taken by some tourist a long time ago. Which totally fits this building.

I really like this photo. I love how the sun is kind of glistening off some of the glass. Also, this is a SOOC (straight-out-of-camera) Black and White. Pretty crazy.
