Well hey there, how you doin’?
So as of late I have been checking my Tumblr a lot and I don’t know why. Every time I check it, I get upset. What’s upsetting is how many horrible pictures my friends reblog. I swear, out of every “good” photo, there’s at least 10 bad ones. Do you people not have eyes?! You just reblogged a photo of someone’s shoes!!! I don’t care about shoes! Why the heck does this piece of crap picture have 2,000 likes/reblogs?! It’s horrible!!!
Then I realized not everyone shares the same view as me on the differences between a photograph and a picture. So here is what I think.
As a photographer I am always trying to improve my photography. One of the ways I am trying to is by taking less pictures and making more photographs. To me, picture and photograph mean two different things.
A picture is something that you take instantly. It’s usually a “slice-of-life” moment. Now these photos aren’t bad and sometimes they can be very interesting. But the problem is is EVERYONE takes pictures. And most the time this pictures have no thought put into them. They are just a snapshot. Usually un-compositional, grainy, blurry, easily forgettable, etc. But as a photographer one of the keys to becoming “One of the Greats” is to make PHOTOGRAPHS that are MEMORABLE.
To me, a photograph is something that took a photographer a long time to create. Minutes, hours, days, even years. Photography is suppose to be a form of art and art is RARELY created instantly. Some artists never finish their work. Another aspect to a good photograph is thought. Planning ahead. The photographer may have had an idea for a photograph in his head for a long time before he finally creates the image.
I’m trying to take less pictures and create less (yes thats right, less, you don’t make a lot of photographs) photographs. But those few photographs that I have created, I want to be great.
That’s my thought on the subject. What do you think? How would you describe a picture/photograph?
(P.S. sorry for any spelling, grammar, or missing words. I typed this all out on my iPhone.)
Well this weekend me and my family went up to Heber, Arizona for the fourth of July and my dad kinda sorta forgot to buy internet for us. So hence, no uploading. Oh well. I hope you all enjoyed OH THE HUMANITY!!! Woes of a Photographer post! I really enjoying writing those. It lets me incorporate my humor into my passion. But enough jibber-jabber, let me show you some photos!
Day 151- Well this is a rare thing. A full rainbow!!! How often do you get to see those!?!? Not very often I tell ya. My sister and I both wanted to go and see if there was a pot of gold at the end but sadly, it would have been quite a walk. So we only imagined what we would do with a big ol’ pot of gold…
Day 152- Oh how I love it when it rains in Arizona. :) We have some pretty amazing storms here I tell ya, pretty amazing. Anyway, This was on the hood of some guy’s yellow car! Yes! Thats right, yellow. Lets just say, I put a lot of “iPhotoing” into it. haha Yeah, I still use iPhoto. Photoshop is soooo confusing, I need an instructor to teach me how to use it. hahaDay 153- Happy 4th of July!!!! Now of course I had thought up some huge, inspiring, thoughtful post to post for the Fourth of July, but sadly, that has escaped my mind. So lets see what I have to say about this special holiday. First of all I would like to thank every single man and woman who have fought for my personal freedom. You were willing to sacrifice your life, for mine. I respect you highly for that. If it werent for people like you, I would not be sitting here blogging. I probably wouldnt have the money to even buy a camera. Even though there is a lot of stuff going on in this country, America is still one of the best places to live. It is an honor to live here and be here, and if it werent for people in any branch of the military, I probably wouldnt be living here. So thank you.
HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!!!

Hey Yall! Sorry I havent been blogging much. Im on vacation right now! Ive taken lots of pictures.
Day 135- The first day of the trip! We have to leave out of Phoenix and go up to Heber, Arizona. My parents say it is the roughest part of the trip. Day 136- Driving down the road we ran into a little awning trouble. It started to like unroll or something so we had to pull over and fix it. I decided to get pictures and thought this one was cool!Day 137- Ok, so like there was this super-mega-huge storm coming in tonite! It was crazy big looking! I think the picture speaks for itself. Day 138- Happ 40th Anniversary Burt and Monica! Today we went over to Lubbock, Texas to celebrate my aunt’s parents anniversary! This isnt there dog but she sure was cute. Oh, and this is how my camera takes Black and White pictures. No editing done to it.

Day 129- Wow, reheasals today were CrAzY!!! We had to OVER-exaggerate all of our movements and say our lines super fast and really loudly. It was crazy I tell you! It was energetic, fun, funny, awesome, crazy, comical, and so much!!! hahah! I love it! I love this picture because of the blurriness. It shows so much motion, and the OVER-exaggerated movement.

Well I am still doing that MoezArt Play thing. To tell you the honest truth, I havent had this much fun in a looooong time. Like yesterday, I have never laughed so hard in my entire life!! It had to be one of the best days of my entire life!! Today was awesome too! We went through dress rehearsal, and also went through the entire play today!! Great job guys!
Day 128- So, I am still in this MoezArt play, “The Forgotten Sheriff.” I really enjoy bringing my camera because I starting to LOVE taking pictures of people! I used to kinda hate having people in my pictures cause, well I dont really know. I just didnt like it. But I realized that people are just part of pictures sometimes, and now that I grown to like love it, I going to admit, that it is my FAVORITE aspect of photography. I love capturing the facial expressions and the personality’s of the people in the picture! There is so much character in this picture Im going to let it speak for itself.

Well lets see, today I started a summer camp called MozeArt. Its kinda like a theatre class thing and I super excited to be in it! I got the part as the town drunk. :P haha, I guess everyone said it was a fitting part for me. Is that a good thing?
Day 122- Well since I started this MozeArt thing, Project 365 might be put on the back burner. Anyway, when I went to go take out the trash, I looked up at the sky to see the clouds, and this is what I saw! I just loved the motion! It was pretty incredible! Oh, and by the way, I have big news! My dad is going to transfer Adobe Photoshop CS4 to my mom’s computer!! So guess what? That means I will be using a professional grade photo editing software for my pictures!! Holy moly! So many people have already told me that my pictures look professional, and that was with iPhoto! So I wonder what this will be like??

Day 119- This flower is called an agapanthus. Remember a few days ago when I went to Nancy’s house to get pictures of her flowers, well these are the ones she wanted me to get pictures of! They were just about to bloom I think and I wish I could have seen them in full blossom, but they were still a cool flower!

Yeah, another flower picture. So what? Flowers are awesome
Day 117- Well today I got some pictures on my phone but I cant find the cord to it so I cant get them off. So, Ill just use one that I took from when I went to Nancy’s house. I love this one because the flower just “pops” off the screen! Its really cool. And, and, There was no photo editing done to it what-so-ever! I just love it when a picture turns out perfect!

Day 116- Just wow! I am so impressed with this photo. It is incredible! I was so impressed on how it turned out! I got this photo at Nancy’s house, one of my mom’s friends. She wanted me to get pictures of her agapanthus. I did, but I also found some of her other flowers very impressive and quite lovely. But out of all of these, I was most impressed with this one.
