Last friday Cheyanne came to visit me. Now this doesn’t seem like exciting news, but it is! You see, Cheyanne is from Michigan. And as most of you should know I live in Arizona. Michigan and Arizona are not neighboring states (if you didn’t know that). So, how does one get to know someone who lives in Michigan? The internet of course! :D That’s right, Cheyanne is (was) an internet friend that I got to know through Twitter.
So I don’t really know where to start but basically Cheyanne texted me a few weeks ago and said she was coming to Arizona for spring break because she wanted to meet me (and see Austin) and I was like, “NO WAY!” and she was like, “WAY!” but before she could come out she had to double-check and see if it was okay with her mother and since I’ve skyped with her family n’stuff her mom thought it was cool so Cheyanne spent half of her life savings just to come meet me and we went to the zoo and Mill Avenue in Tempe and because Cheyanne had never eaten at Chick-Fil-A before we took her there and then we went to an improve comedy club that night. It was an AWESOME day and I can’t believe Cheyanne had to go home saturday morning. It’s like she BELONGED in Arizona.
(sorry about the run-on sentence.)
Here are a few photos of Cheyanne and one from the zoo.
I took a bunch of photos of the zoo animals but I only liked this one of the parrot.
Cheyanne at her first Chick-Fil-A! Guess what? She liked it! :D
So yeah, I meet an internet friend and I didn’t get murdered, raped, or molested.
Remember how I was all like, “Speaking of Tumblr, did I tell you that I just got one? No, I didn’t. You know why? Because I just got it yesterday. I think it would be really cool if you followed me. I’ll use it to post photos, videos, and other random stuff that normally doesn’t get posted on my blog. Jajaja?” Well I was so happy to tell yall about my Tumblr, that I forgot to post a link to my Tumblr! I feel slightly stupid about this.
So brace yourselves, for I am about to post a link to my NEW Tumblr!
When you click this, you will be taken to awesomeness
And since Im just throwing links out there, here is the one to my Twitter. I tweet a lot. Like a lot a lot. So prepare yourself.
When you click this, you will be taken to more awesomeness
If you followed me on both Tumblr and Twitter, I would give you a virtual hug.
Hey yall, sorry I havent blogged in a few days. I had another one of those weekends were I didn’t want to sit down and blog. It’s not that I don’t like it, I just didn’t feel like it. I even had all the photos edited and ready to blog. Oh well, maybe I will blog them later this week.
Anyway, I have more exciting news to tell you and it all started from Twitter!
A few months ago I met this kid named Tom S. on Twitter. He and I started tweeting back and forth like most people. Then we decided to “take the next step” and become Facebook friends. Which was really cool.
One day Tom made a status about Wintergreen Tic Tacs and how his dad had given him a pack and he happy about that. I didn’t really understand why. It’s just a wintergreen tic tac. Yeah, they are freaking amazing, but you can get them at any grocery store. Well then Tom told me that you can’t get wintergreen Tic Tacs in England!!! :O What is the Queen thinking!?
Well Tom asked if I could send him some (seven big packs) to him. DUH! I thought that would be the coolest thing ever. He in turn has offered to send me some tea (Tetley’s and Twinings) and I guess some Crisps. Which is what they call potato chips in England. Yeah. It has to be the coolest thing ever. I’ve got to find one or two more things to send. Something very “American.” (and if I could send hoards of deep-fried food, trust me, I would.)
So today I went out and bought 8 Big Pack Wintergreen Tic Tacs, seven for Tom, one for me. :)
Now, ever time I look at them (they are currently sitting on my desk, havent shipped ’em yet), I cant help but think, these things are going to be in England in a short while. Holy Molasses! It’s a really cool thought. I can honestly say, I feel really cool sending them over. I know Tom is going to be super happy and I just think it’s cool something is going to be in England.
Oh, be sure to follow me on Twitter! @therealmattymoo

You know what I miss? Emailing. You know, that thing you did back in like the 90’s before there was Facebook and Twitter? Umm…its like letter writing…only digital? YES! That! Well, I miss that. I miss getting fun emails from friends and reading about what is going on in their lives, even though by the time I’ve replied to that email, those things have past. Those were the good ol’ days. Now all I get in my inbox are messages from companies telling to come spend more money at their store, and those dreadful Facebook emails that seem to NEVER END, or that someone new just started following me on Twitter. That’s all I get now. Oh, and the occasional Apple email demanding that I spend more money and get my great-twice removed-half-blooded-imported Aunt and iPad for her birthday (though I do approve of the iPad for the Grad email.) Its sad really. Now all we do is stalk people’s Facebook walls. Which is awkward. Or read through someone’s tweets only to find out that all they’ve done is go pee. Its getting boring. Why can’t people email more? What’s wrong with it? Is it not “hip” enough? Well…what’s so “hip” about Facebook? All you do is getting poked by people and look at pictures of people you really don’t care about. Twitter? Hello? Everyone hates birds! They taunt us with their power of flight! It’s not fair! We should….revolt.
But lately, my inbox has been enlightened to an email conversation with someone in England. Yes, the Motherland. She found me through a Facebook status that I had commented on and guess what, she stalked me and found my blog. Luckily, she was cool enough to send me an email complimenting me on my photographic work. Of course, I freaked out because…I GOT AN EMAIL FROM A REAL LIVE PERSON. I just found this hugely monumental, because it wasnt one of those stupid, “If you don’t forward this email, you don’t love your country/you’re gonna die/your lover is going to kiss you Friday” kind of crap, and because it was a personal message. I like it. And now, we email back and forth, talking about our education, our love of photography, books we like, and cool photo journeys we have planned. It’s really nice.
Even though I have no idea what she looks, (her name is Nikki, and I hope it’s a her :P), I feel as though I’ve known her forever and she just randomly decided to send me an email to “catch up.” I check my email all the time to see if I’ve gotten a reply yet. Of course, I always check from my iPod, which is cool and all, but I don’t like replying via iPod because it’s so hard to type long replies.
Anyway, I just thought I would share this to you all. I think it’s really fun to email. My next goal…send a HANDWRITTEN (that means using a pen and paper) letter to someone…someone far away. Any takers?
